Being in the property business for such a long time, we have had to change and progress with the times, which meant making sure we had the best website offering as much information as possible on buying a property in the sun. We also make sure we send frequent emails with new properties and kept clients up to date via social media.

It seems interest in European property is on the increase in the UK according to Rightmove Overseas. The site has recorded an increase from 3.6m searches for foreign homes by British buyers in June 2012 to 5.4m in June 2013.
The biggest increase comes from searches for Spanish property which has increased the most by 63%. This increase has certainly been felt here at Atlas and we are getting more and more enquires for property in and around the coast. As well as getting great value for money in the area, there is also the potential to gain rental income from the property. With low cost and frequent flights to the Costa Blanca from most major airports in the UK, this remains a large draw for people wanting to make their holiday home pay for itself.
In a separate report from major bank HSBC it was found that the number of people approaching retirement who are considering buying a holiday home is now higher than it was before the financial crisis at 5.4 m. This is another indication that the demand is increasing and the prices wont stay so low forever. Now is the time to get that dream home in the sun while the prices are still rock bottom. Here is an update of another favourite property of mine which has also been one of our best sellers for a while now. The La Zenia Resort was a property in Spain released about 9 months ago and has since fully sold out three of its four phases – unheard of in this current market place.
If this is the case you must know that the developer is doing something right. In this case they have worked on two things; price and location. The prices start at €114,000 (£91,200 at todays exchange rate) and for this you get an excellent two bedroom two bathroom property in La Zenia with an ultra modern feel as you can see from the pictures below:
I have also mentioned location as a primary reason for it selling well. This is because it is a property in La Zenia which is one of the most up and coming areas of Southern Spain (not to mention it is where we have our Head Office). One of the biggest reasons for this area being so prominent at the moment is the 2nd largest shopping centre in the Alicante Province. It has now got the name “The La Zenia Boulevard” and is quite a site.
It was opened officially on the today, the 26th September and we will get you some photos shortly. It is spread over 161,000sqm and has over 5,000 parking spaces. We all know the Spanish food is fantastic and perhaps this is why 11,000sqm is given over to restaurants and bars. Despite there being all the household names and large chain shops (Zara, Decathlon and Massimo Dutti to name a few) what I like best about it is that 150 of the shops inside are local shops. It shows a real effort to look after the local outlets as I am sure it will mean the Torrevieja shops may be affected by its opening.
These properties are on the doorstep of the shopping centre and hence we have seen a surge in demand for people wanting to not only buy here but also to rent – the shopping centre needs thousands of personnel (over 5,000 to be exact) and hence if you are a rental investor these could be interesting for you as well.

I have the privilege of writing this blog post on an airplane back to a rainy Southern England with memories of a beautiful sunny day, basking in temperatures hitting 35degrees already a distant memory.
I feel compelled to write however following a day of property viewing and amongst many exciting offerings there was one that stuck in my mind. A wonderful Detached Villa in Villamartin – The Las Lomas – a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa complete with its own private pool and garden. Plots vary from 300sqm to over 600sqm.
As you can see from the pictures it is of a very modern design and the outside area is just stunning. A new design feature inside really accentuated this; a glass wall overlooking the garden from the bedroom. I have never seen this before in Spain and the result is outstanding and fills the Villa with light and really brings the outside, inside. A fantastic effect to which I must applaud the architect.
This Villa in Spain is situated within 2km of both the year round resort town of Villamartin – close enough for the amenities (including the commercial centre – La Fuenta)- and the Cabo Roig Strip famous for its night life. Being that little bit away from the action and being sandwiched between two beautiful pine forests means you have the best of both worlds. Peace and quiet and year round amenities should you need it.
There are only 11 Villas available and they are going quickly. With prices starting from €172,000 you can understand why.
I almost forgot, just moments away is a lovely restaurant – La Finca – which also has an outdoor pool. Don’t forget to stop by to try it out.

This month we have noticed a real drive for people wanting to secure a property before the end of the year. We have also found people wanting to secure something now, while the currency remains strong, that they will use for holidays over the next few years before contemplating whether to move out permanently.
I believe this is partly why there has been a recent surge in interest for Townhouses and that is why we felt the Permed would be perfect for the Property of the Month for August – especially given it has just had a £20,000 price drop. (more…)
I was very fortunate last week to get a quick trip out to Spain and so I took a few hours out to visit a few of the most popular properties while I was there. It turns out that there are quite a few of our clients buying a property called the La Zenia Resort and a property called the Amaya which are both similar in price style and location but seem to have the clients divided!
Thereofre I thought I would just share a couple of videos we have taken so you can see which one you prefer. The La Zenia Resort currently starts at £91,500 (€109,000) for two bed apartments with two bathrooms but there are also three bedroom semi detached villas from £133,250 (€159,000). There is a communal pool on site and they are of a very modern standard as you will see from the video and include underground parking as standard. Situated next to one of Alicante’s major shopping centre’s and only a short walk to the beach they really are in a prime position. As a result the first phase has already sold out and the ssecond phase is selling out quickly. See what you think of the video below.
Its stiff competition is the Amaya which is a collection of two bedroom duplexes and then some three and four bedroom town houses. With a prime location close to Punta Prima and another large shopping complex its location rivals the La Zenia Resort above. Prices start at £103,000 (€122,900) for the duplexes and £213,750 (€255,000) for the townhouses and again they come with off street parking. There is an additional incentive from the builder which is they will fully furnish the first few sold that are sold by Atlas International. A great incentive for any body to purchase.
